I thought I had seen it all. I thought I was beyond being surprised by ignorance, but then I saw the Dear Abby column last week where she answered a letter from a “friend” who opposed the idea of an adoption fundraiser for a couple who had spent all their money on four failed IVF cycles and now couldn’t afford to adopt. You're right that long term fostering is often very hard on a kid's sense of worth. Fostering as a short term measure to provide care for kids whose parents are in a crisis and need help to "get their act back together" is crucial and we need good foster families desperately. But, if the child is not going to be able to go back to living with their parents, then I agree with you that we need a better solution for kids other than long term fostering.

I'm adopted And I thifostering is not goodfor kids becauseit makes them think u like them but not enough to want to keep them forvever and it puts abandoning or abusive thoughts back in to there heads
